On this occasion, we’re taking a look at the winner and recalling the design solutions that helped us get featured.

Burfa’s Website Design: By People For People

Burfa is an Estonian investment company that works with projects and startups in IT, fintech and data processing. Main focus — investing in computing technology and the people that support it.

Clients asked us to design a website that would become a place for investors and clients to find all the details about the company, its projects, and more.

So for Burfa, we came up with a clean and minimalistic website. With simple features yet striking visual identity based on light patterns. To reinforce Burfa’s company identity — young yet experienced reliable and serious yet not too conservative — and set it apart from competitors.

With animated and interactive light objects make up of the Burfa logo, we aimed to make a bold visual statements.

And though the website’s full of animations, effects and non-typical interactions, we also wanted it to be as user-friendly as possible.

To make it work, our design team followed the best UX interaction patterns. Turning the website into not just a fancy business card but rather a great tool for communication.

And, of course, making it fully mobile-responsive, running and looking good on both mobile devices and tablets.

Finally, there was a photoshoot.

Here’s the backstory: as the website should have had a more personal feel, we needed portraits of the team. But not just regular pics placed somewhere at the bottom of the page.

We did it in style.

First, made a visual concept and a tech specification so that all the photos would maintain the same style. Then, went all the way to Estonia. And took one of the best Ukrainian photographers — Serge Illin — with us. This guy takes pictures of pop stars and presidents.
